nov 3: asonat / daughter / i break horses / gus gus

as the second last day of the festival arrived (the last day for most festival goers who didn’t get their sigur ros tickets btw) it escalated into a frenzy of acts all slated to perform all over reykjavik. it was hard to finally settle on which shows we wanted to catch.

the major disappointment was uk band, django django cancelling out at the last minute due to a band member falling ill. their show was replaced with the rangleklods from denmark. o well….que sera sera…

below are the pictorial highlights of some of the shows we attended on day 3 of the iceland airwaves festival.

- asonat -

from iceland, this band plays chillax ambient music reflecting the icy soundscapes of their homeland. we caught them live@the FAKTORY, a bar in danger of being demolished. :(

an irritating thing i do at electronic music gigs is focusing on the tools used to make all those interesting noises, which explains the photo below. havin’ a geek moment.

did i say we went to the daughter and i break horses show on the page title?

yes, we did but i wasn’t able to take photos for both those shows only because where i was at daughter’s show, i couldn’t even see her, just heard her sing. for the next show with i break horses, the darned lighting was so bad, i decided to pass on the photo-taking.

as you can see, taking photos at concerts are really tricky. bad strobe lighting, mist and crazy crowds, best forget it unless you bring your professional equipment with you.

- gus gus -

here’s what i mean about the lighting thingy. i’m surprised i even got this photo! here’s gus gus in action at the harpa. great concert but again, bad lighting.
oh well….que sera sera again.

  1. Your style is very unique in comparison to other folks I’ve read stuff
from. Many thanks for posting when you have the opportunity,
Guess I’ll just book mark this page.

  2. Useful info. Lucky me I discovered your website by accident, and I am stunned why this twist of fate didn’t came about in advance!

    I bookmarked it.
